Johnathan Harrison
Database AssistantJohnathan Harrison joins the TPF staff after three years of service as the Programming Manager for Resource Generation, a national alliance of young people supporting and challenging each other to effect progressive social change through the creative, responsible and strategic use of financial and other resources. In his role as Programming Manager he was responsible for managing and developing innovative programs to connect young people to progressive social change networks and to increase the number of young people engaged in social change philanthropy, including coordination of the annual Making Money Make Change Conference. Prior to his work in progressive philanthropy Johnathan's non-profit experience includes several years in the field of youth organizing and health education. He served as co-founder and Program Director for North Carolina Lambda Youth Network, a statewide leadership development network for LGBT youth. His work garnered acclaim and recognition from the National Youth Advocacy Coalition. He also worked previously as the state HIV/AIDS lobbyist for the N.C. HIV/AIDS Alliance. He later transitioned to the role of Youth Program Director for the Lesbian/ Gay Community Service Center of Greater Cleveland. In 1998 Advocate Magazine named Johnathan as one of the nations "Best and Brightest Activists”. He is a graduate and former core trainer of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Youth Leadership Institute and an alumnus of Public Allies/ Americorps. Currently he is a member of the Board of Advisors for Emerging Practictioners in Philanthropy. In April of 2005 Johnathan was named the 2005 Point Foundation Elsie De Wolfe Scholar. Presently Johnathan is completing a degree in Interior Architecture and Interior Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. |
