IMPORTANT NOTICE

The 2008 application is now closed and all semi-finalists have been notified by email. We encourage any applicants who were not selected for further review to apply again next year.

We would greatly appreciate it if you did not contact Point for any application inquiries if you were not selected as a semi-finalist until the selections process is complete in early May.

UPDATES TO THE APPLICATION PROCESS MAY BE MADE AT ANY TIME. PLEASE BE SURE TO CORROBORATE WITH THE FAQs AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION.

Application Instructions

It is important that you read ALL the information provided before proceeding to the online application. The application process is in two steps: 1.) Complete the on-line application by March 1st. 2.) If you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will be required to submit supplemental information. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU COLLECT YOUR SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION NOW. If you are selected as a semifinalist you may have as little as one week to mail the supplemental information before the deadline. All of your supplemental material needs to have your full name and PIN displayed on each page. Once you have read these instructions, you will need to create an account for your scholarship application by clicking the Log-In / Sign-Up button.

Note

Please review the website and FAQ’s completely before calling Point Foundation. The application process opens January 2, 2008. Your application is not considered complete until you have completed the online portion and submitted all subsequent required information by mail.

Semi-finalists: Mailing-Required Supplemental Materials

1. Point Foundation REQUIRES additional supplemental materials from all applicants who are selected for further review. If you are chosen (you will be notified by email by March 2nd), you will be required to have all of your supplemental material postmarked no later than Friday, MARCH 7TH. Point Foundation will not accept any late material, and your application will be removed from consideration. If you miss the March 1st deadline for the online portion, or the March 7th postmarked deadline as a semi-finalist, you will be disqualified and no longer considered for scholarship.

ALL MATERIAL MUST BE SENT TOGETHER IN ONE ENVELOPE, and include the following:

a. At least two (2) and no more than three (3) Letters of Recommendation. Two must be from a teacher/professor. For applicants who have been out of school for more than five years a reference from a supervisor could serve as one of the letters of recommendation.

b. Official school transcripts from your most recent academic institution supporting the GPA you entered on your application. (Please note that it can take up to 5 weeks to receive your transcripts. DO NOT have transcript sent directly to Point from your school, as it will not have your PIN or name on the outside of the envelope, and it will not be accepted)

c. Verification of any/all test scores that you included in your application. Please note that it can take up to 5 weeks to receive your official scores. Point will not accept score verification directly from your school/facility. You must have them sent to you, and then included with all other material requirements.

d. Your resume and/or CV (Optional).

2. Supplemental materials may NOT be sent until you have received notice by e-mail that you have been selected as a semi-finalist. The latest you could receive notice is March 2nd.

3. ALL SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL MUST HAVE STAPLES REMOVED, AND YOUR FULL NAME AND PIN NUMBER MUST BE WRITTEN CLEARLY ON EITHER THE FRONT OR THE BACK OF EVERY PIECE OF PAPER SUBMITTED. (If you do not write your PIN on ALL SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS, your application will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.)

4. ALL ENVELOPES THAT ARE USED FOR SUBMITTING THE SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL MUST ALSO HAVE YOUR FULL NAME AND PIN NUMBER WRITTEN ON THE FRONT OR BACK, no exceptions.

5. Point Foundation will not return any of your supplemental material, regardless of whether or not you are selected as a Finalist, and/or Point Scholar. NO EXCEPTIONS

· Photograph (Optional)
