Craig C. Daniel, Esq.
Secretary
A former New Orleans public school teacher, Craig Daniel has seen firsthand the struggles that students who defy gender expectations face in our schools. When he left teaching in 1994, Craig joined an LGBT speaker's panel, appearing before high school health classes to share his experience as a gay man in an effort reduce cruelty towards LGBT youth by demystifying sexual orientation and gender identity. After moving to California, Craig joined Palotta Teamworks as the Recruitment Manager/Opening Ceremonies Producer for California AIDS Ride, helping to raise millions of dollars in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Craig entered Hastings College of the Law in 1997, where he was recognized for his leadership and courtroom skills, teaching appellate advocacy to first-year law students and winning a national moot court championship. After obtaining his JD in 2000, Craig joined the San Francisco office of Cooley Godward Kronish, LLP, where he has developed a successful practice as a commercial litigator. At Cooley, Craig has worked to expand the firm's pro bono involvement in LGBT issues and has recruited and mentored LGBT law students and junior lawyers, a group that historically has been almost invisible in major law firms.
Craig joined Point's Board of Regents in 2006 and was invited to serve on the Board of Directors in 2008. He is currently the Secretary of the Board of Directors.
